About the Director: Kaprice Kea
With a taste for adventure, Kaprice arrived in Thailand in January 2000 with his script to make Butterfly Man, the karmic voyage of a western man”. The film was released in UK in 2002. Film Review magazine commented: “Kea has captured the seductive diversity of this wondrous land and has struck gold...” and the young Thai actress Mamee, who Kaprice had spotted in the street was hailed as “a godsend to the camera”.

Mamee went on to win Best Actress (the first Thai actress to win an international award in 25 years) at the Slamdunk Festival, USA . The film also picked up Best Cinematography at the same event and has gone onto to compete at various other international festivals. In Thailand , the film was then sold to GMM Pictures and exhibited nationwide in 2003 – an unprecedented distribution for an English language “indie”. It has been released on DVD in UK , USA and Thailand .

Kaprice has directed one other feature film, several shorts and TV commercials for Saatchi & Saatchi, DYR, Marketforce and Next (Products have included Nivea Visage, Olay Total Effects, UBC Premiership and Anlene milk).

Kaprice directed the music video for “indie” sensation Futon 's debut single, a cover of Iggy Pop's “I Wanna Be Your Dog ”, recently broadcast on MTV Thailand.
